Tube ruler

New equipment acquired: January 30, 2019 I found this neat-looking tube ruler on Taobao.  The ones in the local stationery shop was made of plastic, and the markings look not as precise as I imagine it should be.

Shoes rack (Taobao)

Completion date: January 30, 2019 There are around 20-24 pairs of shoes (in the household) and my existing 4-tier shoe rack (used for 9 years) was long overloaded.  I looked on Taobao and one of the things this delivery was a brand new 10-tier shoe rack...and I get to assemble them.  Yes! It's not a creation, but it's one of the "toolwoman's" fantasy to assemble new stuff!  Anyways, this shoe rack comes with 16cm per tier, but I asked for 2 other different heights, 21cm and 35cm (if I remembered correctly).  The original design was to have a fabric installed on each tier, but I really don't think it's necessary.  I think it would be bad to install it personally. It was really easy to install, I didn't even use the little wooden hammer nor the gloves provided by the shop.  So the top 2 tiers are for the shoe boxes (about 10).  The rack was RMB $108.

Mending of a DIY wardrobe parts

Completion Date: January 28, 2019 Here is a modular wardrobe diy I am assembled at home. This blue one was second-handed (makes a 2x3). I bought them for a very cheap price and 2 of the plastic pieces were broken. I mended one of them using a piece of clear plastic (leftover from my scooter storage project) with some of my leather-sewing skills.  Here are the steps: 1. Cut out the old plastic wrapping 2. Measure the new plastic wrapping 3. Copied the corner cutting to the new plastic.  4. Cut out the corners 5. Fixed the plastic sheet onto the frame with some binder clips.  6. Taped down the end to get ready for hole-punching. In here the 3M scotch tape was a bad choice because it left sticky marks, later I used masking tape and they were perfect.  7. I used a spacer (leather tools, looks like a compass) to mark a straight line on material, so to ensure my punched holes are in a straight line.  8. Here is the fork hole pu

Scooter as a trolley

Trial date: January 30, 2019 My Taobao stuffs have arrived!  Exciting day!  The parcel weighted at 7.41 kg and it's height was up to my waist. It worked!  However, the clips are not very secure if I tried to lift the scooter from the bottom with my feet (e.g. reorienting to the opposite direction). Replaying: I rode down my scooter downhill with the net and clips on the scooter handle.  35x35cm net just won't fit in my bag. I installed the plastic folder file as planned before, put the parcel on the net and wrapped it with a 2-meter long elastic band.  One hook on the net and the other hook secured at the steering wheel.  When pushed the scooter uphill, I even put my bag on the handle, it was a breeze moving the bundles! After thought: I don't carry big baggage like this often and I doubt if I ever would got to improve this.  However, if I were to improve this, it would be allowing the rider to be on the scooter as well.  I drew some ideas,

iPhone Plus 7 case design - Panda

Completion date: August 2018 I drew this by hand. I learned the sketching from a sketchbook from Japan Tokyo Ueno Zoo Gardens 上野動物園. I sketched this completely by hand in pencil first (copying, without tracing!  I think it is amazing I did it), then bold the strokes with black coloring pencil.  The top tiles design was copied from a photo on Pinterest.  I used this until today, after I asked my son to draw me a new iPhone case design.

iPhone Plus 7 case Design - Wind collection

Completion date: October 2018 When I switched to iPhone Plus mobile phone, I couldn't find the perfect iPhone case available on market.  Later on, I bought a clear hard case (with corner bumpers) and started designing my own iPhone case. This is the typhoon design. It says 收緊風 (pronounced shou-gun-fung), meaning "in the middle of information collection". This is an old one, I am currently using another one. I am going to post later.
